ETH Zurich is one of the world’s leading universities specialising in science and technology. It is renowned for its excellent education, its cutting-edge fundamental research and its efforts to put new knowledge and innovations directly into practice. The Computer Vision Laboratory from ETH Zurich, led by Prof. Luc Van Gool, has open PhD student positions in image/video domain translation, image/video restoration and enhancement, and learned image/video compression.
PhD positions in Computer Vision (100%)
Depending on the position, the successful PhD candidate will focus on a subset of the following research topics: deep learning, generative models (GANs, VAEs), computational photography, image/video domain translation, learned image/video compression, image/video enhancement, supervised learning, unsupervised learning, multi-task learning, active learning, reinforcement learning, conditional modeling, context modeling, motion prediction. The tasks will involve designing, developing, and testing novel ideas in cutting-edge research, as well as coordinating and conducting data collection for their evaluation. The PhD candidate will also collaborate with industry.
The positions are open immediately and fully funded. The Computer Vision Laboratory and ETH in general are an exciting environment for research. Members of the lab already won best paper awards at top conferences (ICCV, CVPR, ACCV, ICRA, ....), founded successful spinoffs, and/or collaborated with industry. The Computer Vision Laboratory is a highly international team, with people from about 15 countries.
