Kyushu Institute of Technology (Kyutech) is a national university founded in 1909. In April, 2018, Kyutech established the Department of Space Systems Engineering. The department has the only undergraduate academic curriculum in Japan focused on space engineering. The department was established based on revised university missions where aerospace was identified as a key area of research and education of the future. Since 2013, Kyutech also runs Space Engineering International Course, an English-based post-graduate program focused on space engineering.
The educational goal of the department is to foster human resources equipped with a profound view of project management and systems engineering, through practical training using satellites, rockets and others. The department promotes research related to space systems. In addition, the department collaborates with members of other departments and with external institutions to solve the domestics and/or international social issues through space application.
To strengthen the faculty of the department, we seek a talented person who is eager to promote education and research in the space field (space engineering, space science, or space utilization).
This is a tenure-tracking position. At the second half of the third year, there will be a mid-term evaluation. At the early stage of the fifth year, there will be a tenure examination. Once the candidate passes the tenure examination, the person receives the tenure position.
Based on Kyutech regulations.
