Two PhD Positions: Confined water: Quantum electric dipoles / Optical engineering in nano optics

The University of Stuttgart, 1. Physics Institute invites applications for 2 available PhD positions. Research at the 1. Physics Institute is devoted to the exploration, description and understanding of novel materials with interesting electronic, magnetic and optical properties, which we investigate by utilizing variety of spectroscopic techniques.


We are looking for highly motivated PhD candidates with a background in physics or related area. Previous experience on spectroscopic techniques and/or solid state physics research is an advantage. Results and possible extensions to the proposed projects will be discussed with the in-house and international colleagues. Therefore, applicants should have good communication skills, an excellent scientific drive and willing to learn and improve themselves.
